Chapter One
Technical lighting reference
Golnoor Lighting Handbook
Standards, definitions, and lighting industry experience in one reference handbook.
Why this handbook
A resource for electrical engineers and lighting designers
Golnoor created this lighting handbook to advance technical knowledge in lighting and share experience with electrical and lighting engineers.
Because light is interdisciplinary, university courses often cover it only briefly. With diverse lighting standards and evolving light sources, a complete scientific reference was needed. The Golnoor handbook team, with experience in national lighting standards committees, prepared this resource for professionals and enthusiasts.
The handbook aims to make lighting-industry tables and standards easy to access, with precise definitions and concise explanations of luminaires and light sources. It is reviewed annually when needed, with new chapters added over time.
