Introducing the HE Product Series at Golnoor

Introducing the HE Product Series at Golnoor

In line with Golnoor's strategic objectives for continuous quality improvement, enhanced energy efficiency, and the development of innovative lighting technologies, the company is introducing a new generation of luminaires under the HE (High Efficacy) series.
In this series, a comprehensive redesign of luminaire components has significantly increased luminous flux and luminous efficacy.

High Efficacy: Higher Luminous Efficacy, Lower Energy Consumption

In pursuit of Golnoor's strategic goals for continuous quality improvement, enhanced energy efficiency, and the development of innovative lighting technologies, a new generation of Golnoor luminaires has been introduced under the HE (High Efficacy) series.

In this generation, simultaneous optimization of the optical and electronic systems has raised luminous efficacy to a remarkable level; in some HE series models, luminous efficacy reaches 185 lumens per watt.

This advancement makes it possible to achieve greater luminous flux with lower energy consumption, which can lead to a reduction in the number of luminaires required, lower installed power, and ultimately lower project operating costs.

What Difference Does HE Make?

Up to 185 Lumens per Watt

One of the most distinctive features of the HE series is achieving luminous efficacy of up to 185 lm/W in certain models within this product family.

Higher luminous efficacy means that a luminaire can produce more light for each watt of energy consumed. The result is the ability to achieve the required illumination level for a project with more efficient energy use.

Higher Luminous Flux

Optimization of optical and electronic components in the HE series has led to a significant increase in luminous flux compared with previous generations.

This feature allows lighting designers to provide the required illumination level for a project with an optimized number of luminaires by selecting the right fixture and light distribution curve.

Precise Optics and Optimized Electronics

The performance of the HE series is not simply the result of improving the efficiency of a single component; it is the outcome of optimizing an integrated set of lighting system elements.

A new generation of lenses, precise optical design, and stable drivers, together with appropriate performance management, help maintain light output quality and operational stability.

Three Layers of Performance Control

Development of the HE series products is focused on three core layers:

Optic

Design and development of dedicated lenses tailored to different applications, including:

  • Street lighting

  • Area lighting

  • Industrial spaces

The goal is more precise light control and a light distribution curve matched to the actual needs of the project.

Driver

Use of stable, optimized drivers to increase electrical efficiency, ensure operational stability, and provide better protection for luminaire components.

System

Evaluation of luminaire performance as an integrated system encompassing optics, electronics, and thermal management, with the aim of maintaining stable performance under varying environmental and climatic conditions.

Achievement: Higher Luminous Efficacy

The result of this development process is a significant increase in luminous efficacy across various models in the HE series.

This improvement in efficiency, in addition to enhancing product performance, can deliver substantial technical and economic benefits for designers, contractors, and operators of lighting projects.

Increased luminous flux and optimized light distribution curves make it possible, in a well-engineered design, to achieve the required illumination level with an optimized number of luminaires.

Benefits of the HE Series

Fewer Luminaires

Higher luminous flux and more precise light distribution can reduce the number of luminaires needed to achieve the target illumination level.

Energy Savings

Fewer luminaires and higher luminous efficacy can reduce the total installed power of a project and, consequently, energy consumption.

Lower Operating Costs

Lower energy consumption and an optimized number of installed fixtures can reduce the total cost of operating the lighting system over the project lifecycle.

Greater Efficiency

In the HE series, the goal is not simply to produce more light, but to use energy more effectively and direct light more precisely to the required surface.

Lighting Quality and Uniformity

Proper optical design and selection of a light distribution curve suited to the project can help improve lighting uniformity, reduce dark spots, and provide better glare control.

Lower Maintenance Costs

Use of stable optical and electronic components and appropriate system design can improve reliability and reduce the need for maintenance interventions.

Design Flexibility

A range of optics and light distribution curves makes it possible to select the right solution for street, area, and industrial projects.

Scientific Foundations of Lighting

To understand the importance of the High Efficacy series, it is essential to understand two key concepts: luminous flux and luminous efficacy.

What Is Luminous Flux?

Luminous Flux is expressed in lumens (lm) and represents the total amount of visible light produced by a light source.

In simple terms, lumens indicate how much light a luminaire produces in total.

What Is Luminous Efficacy?

Luminous Efficacy is expressed in lumens per watt (lm/W) and is the ratio of luminous flux produced to the electrical power consumed by the luminaire.

Luminous Efficacy = Luminous Flux ÷ Power Consumption

The higher this value, the more light a luminaire can produce for the same amount of energy consumed.

Why Is Wattage Alone Not a Suitable Criterion for Selecting a Luminaire?

Power consumption, or watts (W), indicates only the amount of electrical energy consumed by a luminaire and, on its own, does not represent the amount or quality of illumination created in a space.

Two luminaires with the same power consumption can have completely different luminous flux and optical performance.

For this reason, professional lighting design must consider indicators beyond power consumption, such as the following:

  • Luminous flux (Lumen)

  • Luminous efficacy (lm/W)

  • Light distribution curve

  • Type and quality of optics

  • Lighting uniformity

  • Glare control

  • Installation conditions and project geometry

The Primary Criterion: The Light Required by the Project

In professional lighting design, the goal is not simply to select a luminaire based on lower or higher wattage; the goal is to provide the illumination required by the project with the best light distribution and optimized energy consumption.

Therefore, luminous flux and the light distribution curve must be evaluated alongside the luminaire's technical specifications and the project's lighting calculations.

Selecting the right luminaire based on these criteria can play an important role in reducing energy consumption, improving lighting uniformity, and lowering ancillary project costs.

Economic Impact of the HE Series

Higher luminous efficacy can have a direct impact on the economics of a lighting project.

If the required illumination level can be achieved with fewer luminaires, the following can be reduced:

  • Number of luminaires required

  • Total installed power

  • Annual energy consumption

  • Installation equipment and accessories

  • Maintenance costs

  • Total operating costs

As a result, the project can operate throughout its service life with lower energy and maintenance costs, and the investment in high-efficiency equipment can reach the break-even point more quickly.

A Transparent, Standards-Based Approach

Golnoor, with an emphasis on technical transparency and lighting engineering principles, introduces and compares its products on the basis of actual optical performance specifications.

In this approach, rather than focusing solely on a luminaire's power consumption, criteria such as luminous flux, luminous efficacy, optical quality, and light distribution curve form the basis of evaluation.

This method helps designers, consultants, and end users select products based on measurable criteria matched to the real needs of the project.

High Efficacy: A Step Toward More Efficient Lighting

With the introduction of the new generation of HE (High Efficacy) luminaires, Golnoor has taken an important step toward increasing the energy efficiency of its lighting products.

Improvements to optical and electronic components in these products have increased luminous efficacy and luminous flux, enabling the design of lighting systems with lower energy consumption, an optimized number of luminaires, and better optical performance.

Focusing on technical expertise, optical development, optimization of electronic systems, and compliance with lighting industry standards, Golnoor views the development of the HE series as part of its ongoing path toward more efficient and sustainable lighting solutions.
